The 5th gen Prelude has aged fantastically.

There are a lot of cars from this era that have aged well.

in stock configuration yes. I saw a completely stock one and forgot how good they look. the others I see around town got the F&F treatment @10 years ago.

There is one in my neighborhood that looks similar, maybe lower than that. Looks really good.

agree - clean, nice lines, good proportions, nice big headlights, no weird Honda styling goofiness, though is that the model with the wonky dash layout? (or was that the previous.. I can’t remember...)

That was the 4th gen.
The 5th gen’s interior was much simpler.

That 4th gen interior looks way cooler.

The H22 made it an obvious choice for anyone who could afford alittle more than a Civic.

2nd gen still my favorite. I never liked the vertical wrappiness of the 5th gen headlights.

The current Accord Sport with the 6 speed is a pretty good car, but yeah, we should have more Preludes.
Sadly though, the market for sporty FWD coupes kind of died in the early 2000's.

Agreed, you don’t need to do anything to make it look good - even by today’s standards.

I love the Prelude. It was the car I intended to buy as my first car. Imagine my disappointment when I found a gorgeous Electron Blue Pearl 2001 Prelude SH and...I couldn’t get comfortable.
Seat all the way down and all the way back and my knees bounced off the dash and the top of my head was a dip in the road away from hitting the roof. I just went home and didn’t bother to look at any other cars until I found my first Mustang. It still stings to this day.

I’m a pretty big Honda fanboy of their 80-90's products. The Prelude was a great car. But, I have to say I was never a fan of the headlights on the 5th gen. Everything behind the headlights was great, I was just never a fan of the front fascia. I thought the 4th gen fascia would have worked much better there, and would be complimented by the taillights that had a similar design.
I owned an 85 Prelude when I was younger. I loved that little car (and the flip up headlights). Too bad I got the car near the end of its life. I would have really liked to have driven it when it was still minty.

When I was stationed in Japan from 96-00, my first car was a white, 89 Prelude w/ 4WS and the 5 speed. It was basically my first car being 19 at the time, besides a beater Cutlass Ciera I had in the states before enlisting in the Navy. I’ve been hunting for the only pic I had of her for years, but she was clean as can be. That was the car that got me hooked on Honda. When I returned from Japan, the first thing I did was buy a brand new 99 Integra GSR, which, after a short few months of ownership was promptly stolen in Fresno.

I wonder if an aftermarket seat like a Bride Lo-Max would cure that problem for you...
